| Effective Monday, July 28, 2003, Maryland Ave will be closed to pedestrians from the short set of stairs located near the Northwest corner of the building continuing east to Second St. Visitors to the Court will be able to use these stairs leading up to the brick terrace walkway to enter the Court through the Maryland Ave. door. The remaining parking spaces on Maryland Ave will be designated as "no parking" to allow for the drop off or pick up of visitors to the building. An entrance ramp for persons with disabilities is currently under construction on Maryland Ave, several yards from First Street, and should be completed by Monday, July 28, 2003. Until it is completed, the Court’s Police will permit individuals who need to use the ramp and vehicles dropping them off or picking them up, to enter Maryland Ave to use the existing walkway. Effective Monday, Maryland Ave will also be closed to eastbound vehicular through-traffic. The Court’s Police Force will control the entrance to Maryland Avenue, from First Street. Also effective Monday, July 28, 2003, East Capitol Street will be closed to all pedestrian traffic just along the Court’s side of the street. This closure is in connection with the ongoing project at the U.S. Capitol Visitor’s Center and the Court’s project. |
